Lübeck es una ciudad Alemania|Alemana del estado de Schleswig-Holstein.
En el año 1358 Lübeck participó, junto a otras ciudades comerciales del norte de Alemania, en la formación de una alianza económica llamada liga Hanseática. Con ella dominaron durante siglo y medio el comercio del mar del Norte y del mar Báltico.
En 1987 fue declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. En el sur de la ciudad se está planeando construir un parque científico y tecnológico, en el que se combinarán docencia, investigación y desarrollo y se creará un recinto que aunará vivienda y puesto de trabajo.
Actualmente tiene aproximadamente 212.000 habitantes.
